Allspice is a native of the
Caribbean and Central America. It was introduced into Europe in the
16th Century as Jamaican Pepper - the name it still carries in most
languages. In English, it is called Allspice because its aroma and
flavor are a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Use it to
spice meats, fish, vegetables, pickles, and baked goods. Try it in
chutneys, marinades, cakes, plum puddings, pies, mulling spices, and
rice dishes.
1.5 oz jar.
